DFW Baby Photographer * I got to meet baby Gabriel! His mom chose neutral tones for his newborn photos! I love how his baby photos turned out! Gabriel slept through his whole session, he had a little trouble settling in at the beginning, but when he fell asleep it was a breeze.
The safety of the baby is my top priority when posing newborns. I make sure that the baby is always supported and comfortable, and avoid any poses that could put them in danger. I always have a spotter nearby to assist with the baby and to ensure their safety at all times.
Newborns are best photographed within the first two weeks of life when they are still sleepy and curled up in a fetal position. During this time, they are more likely to cooperate and remain in the positions you place them in, making it easier to capture those adorable poses.

Newborns are sensitive to temperature changes, so it’s important to keep them warm and cozy during the shoot. I use a space heater to keep the environment warm and comfortable for the baby. I also use props like wraps, blankets, outfits and hats to keep them comfortable and snug.
Newborns can be unpredictable, so it’s essential to be patient during the photoshoot. I take my time and am gentle when posing the baby, and allow for breaks as needed. Remember that the baby’s comfort and safety should always come first, and a happy baby will lead to better photos.
Props like baskets, crates, and blankets can add a touch of charm to a newborn photoshoot. However, I have to be mindful not to overwhelm the baby with too many props or accessories. Keeping it simple and let the baby be the focus of the image. When it comes to posing, I try to use comfortable positions that reflect the baby’s natural movements and behavior.
Newborn posing is a beautiful and rewarding style of photography that requires patience, skill, and safety precautions. With the right techniques and equipment, you can create timeless and beautiful images. Families will treasure these images for a lifetime. It is so important to prioritize the safety and comfort of the baby and to take your time to capture those precious moments.
